overview

The characterization generates a three dimensional (3D) information volume. The x and y dimensions of the cube corresponds to the x and y coordinates of the sample. The y dimension of the cube corresponds to what we define as the enforced angle, the angle enforced on the sample during characterization.

The 3D information volume is a massive and powerful optical description of the sample that may be either visualized or characterized further by mathematical tools.
